How has been three months and I still haven’t posted Aliyana’s first birthday? Life has been really full around here. I’ve finally come to terms that planning Little A’s birthdays will forever be creatively challenging since she’s born in February, in the dead of winter. Gone are my dreams of summer BBQ and pool parties haha. For her first birthday, I wanted to do a small gathering with some of her closest baby friends – all 12 of them to be exact! We threw her birthday here in our home and although it was a bit tight for space, we managed to make it work.
The theme was Winter Onederland and I filled it with some of her favourite woodland creatures. My mother-in-law handmade the most adorable animal ears for all the babies and Mike built the most amazing child size long table and painted it in my favourite oxford white. Celsia create the magical bouquets, Tessa from Sweet Bake Shop made all of the sweet treats and Ragazzi pizza catered our giant adult pizza party while the kids played! I really wanted to bring in greenery and folliage so my pal Christine and I spent a few hours the evening before the party making wreaths! First time throwing a first birthday and I think it was a success.
A few of you asked about Aliyana’s highchair… it’s actually a vintage find from the states and Mike re-painted it for me.
