Food / Another year of thanks

I’m not a big fan of pumpkin pie so I never find myself picking up one up for Thanksgiving dinner. What I do love is a good piece of apple pie (a la carte) and it’s also a huge pregnancy craving for me these days. One of my favourite places to pick up pies is at Stuart’s Bakery in Granville Island – it’s freakin’ delicious and everyone should try a slice!

Aside from the turkey and sugar coma this weekend, I’m so extremely grateful for life and the people who are in it with me. I recently read a book by Mitch Albom called The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto and a little excerpt really stuck with me – “As life goes on, you will join different bands, some through friendship, some through romance, some through neighborhoods. Maybe you will all dress the same, or laugh at your own private vocabulary. Maybe you will flop on couches backstage, or share a boardroom table, or crowd around a galley inside a ship. But in each band you join, you will play a distinct part, and it will affect you as much as you affect it” Although not is picture perfect, I’m at such a personal high especially with the little bean coming in a few short months and I’m full of gratitude for what has been accomplished and what is yet to come.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
