A Fall Favourite

Family and Home

October marks eight months with Aliyana. I want to spend as much time as I can with her being present and collecting memories for our little family. Although I know she wouldn’t remember any of this, I just want all these moments captured and documented. It’s SOOO true, time really does fly and I’m really scared that if I don’t keep taking photos, I’ll miss something important. There are days (when all is calm) where I would sit and think back at the first 3 months of her life. I feel like I missed a lot because I was in such a rut, hormones were going nuts and I was a little depressed. Being a mom for the first time is so extremely overwhelming, everything was so new and I felt as though I was running a million miles a minute…. blindfolded. So I’m taking every opportunity I can to create family traditions.

Aside from wool coats and cozy knits. There are a few fall activities I absolutely love doing, one of which is going to the pumpkin patch! So 4 days after we got back from Europe, we bundled Aliyana up and headed to the Westham Island Pumpkin Patch. It’s already late October so I knew there wasn’t going to be much left, especially the coveted white pumpkins but I really didn’t want to miss this first pumpkin patch experience with her. I can’t wait until she’s old enough to wander into the patch and pick out her own pumpkin…… In the meantime, we went a little overboard and picked 10 too many pumpkins. Luckily I’m throwing my first annual kiddie halloween party this Wednesday so I can’t wait to show you what I’m doing with them. Stay tuned.
